Where are my Spanish wine lovers? Tonight, I am sampling a bottle of Tempranillo from Toro, Spain, Pago Lencia Toro Reserva. I think that this is the first time that I have featured a Tempranillo on Blonde Voyage Nashville, so I am excited to share my thoughts and hear what you all think. Let’s jump into the tasting details, shall we?

TASTING NOTES:

  • Natural cork

  • Rich, ruby red color

  • Notes of dark red fruit, hints of chocolate

  • Earthiness notes throughout; would pair well with a hearty meal

  • BOLD- Make sure you decant this bottle or at least give it time to open up

  • Very dry with mild acidity

Verdict:

I was very excited to introduce this Tempranillo to the blog, but I have to say, I am not a fan. Even though I allowed the wine to open up for quite some time, I hoped it would have softened it up but it just didn’t. It’s a great price point, but too dry for this girl to enjoy. If you love bold, dry wines, you’d really enjoy this bottle and I’d recommend giving it a whirl but otherwise, this is a pass for me.

Until Next Time!
