With Hurricane Isaias threatening the weekend, the forecast is decidedly soggy, and my outdoor plans are circling the drain. Fortunately, I have a contingency plan that requires absolutely no meteorological expertise: open a bottle of wine and start planning my next escape. If Mother Nature insists on keeping me indoors, the least I can do is give my airline miles something to look forward to. So, while the rain does its thing, I’ll sip Le Beau Sud, plot my next adventure, and pretend browsing flights is a productive way to spend an afternoon. Honestly though, there are worse ways to ride out the storm.
Le Beau Sud is a French white blend from the south of France. The two grapes, Vermentino and Sauvignon Blanc, bring something different to the glass. Together, they make for a fresh, easy-drinking white wine. And with its generous one-liter bottle, there’s a little extra to enjoy, and we all know I am going to need it
Without further ado, let’s get into the tasting details, shall we?
Tasting Notes:
Pale Straw Yellow with a soft golden hue
Bright citrus notes | Lemon and Grapefruit
Subtle notes of peach and floral aromas on the nose
Bright acidity without being aggressively tart like Sauvignon Blancs can be
Light-bodied wine with a fresh/dry finish
Verdict:
Overall, Le Beau Sud is an incredibly easy-drinking, fruit-forward white wine that delivers freshness without asking much of your wallet. It’s not the most complex bottle on the shelf, but it’s a great choice for a casual glass on the patio, a seafood dinner, or even surviving a rainy weekend. And then there’s the fact that I reached for a French wine. Coincidence? I think not. I think my subconscious is reminding me that my next trip may be a return to France. If you need me, I’ll be researching flights with a glass in hand. Santé!

Until Next Time!
