Tasting Notes:

Nashville is feeling the effects of Hurricane Florence. Cooler temps (even if it was only for a few days) call for bold red wine and Liberté was just that.

As I poured the wine, it was hard not to notice the brilliant crimson color. Swirling the glass, the aromatic notes of blackberry and plum intensified. Without a doubt, I knew I was in for a delicious treat. Taking my first sip, the tannins hit the back of my palate making my face slightly pucker, but the wine didn’t taste exactly how I suspected. It was rather harsh.

Before I passed judgement on the bottle, I decided to let the wine breathe in hopes that it would soften. Thirty minutes passed and I could not have been more pleased with the results. During my tasting, I had the following observations:

  • Big/ Bold Nose

  • Moderate Tannins

  • Notes of baking spices, reminiscent of fall

  • Leggy

Verdict: While it wasn’t love at first sip, I’d encourage you to give this one a try. Open it and let it breathe a bit before serving and you won’t be disappointed!

Until Next Time!
