Wine Is My Valentine
Valentine's Day. If you are single or all bae'd up, it will be here before you know it. When I was younger, I used to think that Valentine's Day was limited to those with a significant other and singles would retreat to the bedroom with a box of drugstore chocolates (you know the ones I am talking about) and watch rom-coms on repeat.
Five Points Stole A Pizza My Heart
Tacos, queso, nachos, wine, and pizza. If you follow my Instagram, you know these are my un-official food groups. I think my fellow foodies and I are making quite the case for the USDA to reexamine the food pyramid.
Over the weekend I had a chance to revisit a Nashville classic, Five Points Pizza which is located in East Nashville's Five Points District.
Break Out The Control Top Lederhosen: Von Brunch At Von Elrod's
One of the biggest complaints I hear about the Nashville food scene is the lack of diversity. Let's face it, there isn't a shortage of fried chicken, biscuits and burgers. However, it wasn't until recently that you could find some solid German food in Music City.
See You At The Barre!
A new year often means new year's resolutions. As we say hello to 2018, many of us are taking time to reflect and reevaluate our life choices. The new year is a perfect time to make changes happen. Often we hear our friends resolve to eat healthier, workout more and/or drink less. (At least two out of three isn't bad ;)
Cheers To Pour Decisions: I Pàstini
What's better than a fire when you are freezing your a$$ off in Nashville? A bottle of VersoSud from I Pàstini. I am savoring every single drop!
One of my favorites from my Puglia trip was our visit to I Pàstini. Located in Martina Franca, I Pàstini is a winery not to be missed. Not only is their harvest organic, but every single grape is hand-picked.
Ringing in 2018 at Bastion
New Year's Eve is most definitely one of those holidays that's take it or leave it. From skiing, rooftop parties in swanky cities to sitting at a friend's house drinking some amazing champs, I've celebrated every way imaginable. One thing that I have learned, it's not where you are and what you are doing, but who you're with that really matters. Am I right?
Get Toasted at Proper Bagel
I graduated from Belmont University in 20 (cough cough) and I continue to be amazed by the number of restaurants and boutiques that pop up in the area. While I was in school, our options were limited, VERY limited.
Hypnotized by Hugh Baby's
Burgers. It's one thing that Nashville does not have a shortage of. From the classics like Gabby's Burgers and Fries, Paradise Park and Burger Up to the newcomers like Jack Brown's and Hopdoddy, it's hard to go wrong. However, Nashvillians are as opinionated about their burgers as Chicagoans are about their pizza.
Fork Yeah! Little Goat Diner
Why is it so hard to find a decent brunch place on a Friday? Is it because most of the general population is supposed to be working? Work schmerk. After all, a girl has gotta eat!
Globetrotting Gastronomic World Tour @ Next Restaurant
For those of you who have been following Blonde Voyage Nashville, you know that I have season tickets to Next Restaurant in Chicago, Illinois. It's probably the one thing that I get asked about the most as people have a difficult time ascertaining the whole "season tickets to a restaurant" concept. To be quite honest, it's been an experience for which I am incredibly grateful.
Picturesque Polignano a Mare
After wrapping up the amazing cheese tour at Masseria Lamapecora, we headed to the coast to explore Polignano a Mare.
Unfamiliar?
Without a doubt, you have seen photographs pinned to a travel inspiration board on Pinterest or perhaps you have stumbled across articles in Travel and Leisure. It is quite possibly one of the most photographed regions of Southern Italy.
The Finest Formaggio at Masseria Lamapecora
If someone asked what your favorite food was, what would be your answer? Pizza? Steak? All things Italian? When your fondness for food is as great as mine, it can certainly be a tough question. However, there is one thing that I can never get enough of, cheese!
Evo Ristorante : Alberobello, Italy
Who would have thought that wandering could work up such an appetite! Um, this girl! Fortunately, we had reservations at one of Alberobello's best restaurants, Evo.
Puglia, Italy: Trulli Charming and Different
Arrivederci, Venice!
Ciao Puglia!
My bags are packed and I am anticipating countless adventures ahead. Where is Puglia you ask? Don't worry, I've got you covered!
Loco for Locanda Marinelli
After spending the day tasting an array of Proseccos from Adami and Col Vetoraz, I was starving. Perhaps, borderline hangry. Oriana, our driver in Prosecco, recommended this lovely inn, Locanda Marinelli, for lunch. Nestled in the hills of Treviso Prealps, Locanda Marinelli is a must for anyone visiting the Prosecco region.
Knock Knock...It's Prosecco O'Clock
What's a girl to do when she has an open day on her Venice itinerary? Make her way to the Prosecco Road, of course! After all, I may not speak Italian, but rest assured I am fluent in Prosecco.
Island Hopping: Murano and Burano
We've all seen the pictures on Instagram and Pinterest. Ones featuring picturesque landscapes that are so brilliantly colorful and eye-catching it doesn't even look real. Welcome to the islands of Murano and Burano. Even if it is your first time in Venice, you would be remiss not to plan an island hopping excursion.
Going, Going, Gondola- A Guide to Venice
A planner. That's how many of my friends would characterize me. However, this recent trip to Italy was quite the contrary. I booked my trip to Puglia over a year in advance based on a few instastories and photos that I saw following EPM. To be honest, I had never heard of Puglia but was intrigued by the stunning white landscape.
Recharge and Refocus
Buongiorno amici! Some of you may have been wondering where I have been. No, I have not fallen victim to a food coma nor did I fall out of the blogosphere. To say that life has been a hot mess lately is quite the understatement. I decided to take some time to recharge and refocus...in Italy! Over the next couple of weeks, I plan on sharing all of the juicy details of my adventures through Puglia, the southern region of Italy forming the "heel" of Italy's "boot" as well as my escapades through the canals of Venice. By far a trip of a lifetime.
Tasty Takeaways from Music City Food +Wine
The fifth annual Music City Food +Wine festival was held this past weekend at Bicentennial Park and it did not disappoint. In an effort to keep up with the ever-evolving culinary scene in the Music City, festival programming was expanded to include a Friday Night Grand Taste highlighting more of our local chefs and restaurateurs. One noticeable change this year was the ratio of booze to food.
Anchoring itself in the historic May Hosiery Mills building, Pastis Nashville didn’t just open; it arrived in Nashville with a wink and a chilled martini.
