Ah, the classic PR slow burn.
A few years ago, a particular brand slid into my inbox with the enthusiasm of a golden retriever. They were thrilled to share their product and wanted me to spread the news. Words like “collaboration” and "we love your content” were thrown around with wild abandon. I was both flattered and intrigued.
Over the course of three months, we exchanged several emails and then…radio silence. Not a polite, “we went another direction” or “ your price is above our budget,” just POOF. I got ghosted by the company faster than I do on a dating app.
So you can imagine my surprise when, years later, I stumbled upon their product at my local Trader Joe’s. And here’s where it gets interesting. It was actually kind of great, which is both satisfying and slightly infuriating.
So here we are. No collab, no payment- just me, a bottle of Seaglass Pinot Grigio, and my honest opinion.
Let’s get into the tasting details, shall we?
Tasting Notes:
Light, pale straw hue
Notes of green apple, hints of pear, and keeping things on the citrus side of a bit of lemon zest
Picked up on the occasional hint of peach
Mild-Medium acidity- you aren’t going to enter sour patch kid territory
Clean and fresh on the palate with slight minerality at the finish
Verdict:
I hate to admit it, but this is a lovely bottle. Will one glass be life-changing? Absolutely not, but it will undoubtedly improve your evening. It’s easy, beachy, and a great bottle when you’re not trying too hard. Think of a neighborhood picnic or perhaps a girl’s night in playing mahjong. Grab this bottle next time you are at Trader Joe’s and let me know what you think!
Until Next Time!
