Hi, Everyone!

I hope your Superbowl hangover has subsided enough because we have a great wine this week for TJ Tuesday. This week I picked up a red blend from Lodi, California called Petit Verdot vs. Petite Sirah. It had one of those labels that just caught my eye, so I had to give it a try.

Let’s jump into the details, shall we?

TASTING NOTES:

  • Classic Cork

  • Rich ruby color

  • Definitely falls towards the bolder end of the spectrum

  • Moderately dry with tannins in the back of the mouth

  • Fruit forward and jammy with notes of cherry and raspberry

  • Pepper notes are present but sporadic

  • Slight sweetness

  • Complex with lots of character

Verdict:

Petit Verdot vs. Petite Sirah is certainly a bottle I’d drink again. Once you allow ample time for the wine to open, you will see how easy this is to drink. If you pick up a bottle from Trader Joe’s, I’d love to hear what you think!

Until Next Time!
