With Christmas just eleven days away and Hanukkah beginning tonight, the holidays suddenly feel dangerously close. The calendar is full, the to-do list is growing, but luckily, I’m almost finished with my shopping. I don’t know about you, but the pressure to make everything feel special can be pretty overwhelming.
During my last visit to Trader Joe’s, I grabbed a few bottles of wine, because let’s face it, sometimes an unplanned pause in the chaos is incredibly necessary.
Tonight, I am enjoying a lovely Pinot Noir from Burgundy, France. Sometimes easing the holiday stress is as simple as trying a new bottle of wine, pouring a glass, and giving yourself permission to slow down, even if just for the evening. It’s incredibly cold in Nashville at the moment, so you’ll find me curled up on the couch under my Barefoot Dreams blanket, savoring every sip.
So without further ado, let’s jump into the tasting details, shall we?
Tasting Notes:
Translucent Garnet-Red Hue
Aromatics- Hints of juicy cherries, strawberries, and maybe even the slightest hint of cranberries
Subtle herbaceous notes
Hints of chocolate at the finish
Medium-bodied wine with balanced acidity
Verdict:
I found this bottle to be quite enjoyable, especially at the $11.99 price point. It’s a simple, straightforward Pinot Noir that is approachable and easy to drink. This would pair nicely with an herb-roasted chicken, a baked Camembert topped with rosemary (my current favorite), or a stack of presents waiting to be wrapped. No matter what you choose, this wine is a delight. It’s certainly lighter than I am used to, but I’m a fan. If you pick up a bottle at Trader Joe’s, drop your comments in the box below. I’d love to hear what you think!
Until Next Time!
