Torrential downpours did not stop festivalgoers from coming out to Bicentennial Capitol Mall and checking out the Music City Food + Wine Festival. Attendees doubled up with umbrellas and ponchos and made their way through the demonstration and grand tasting tents.
Paquette's Hits Keep on Coming! etc. opens in Green Hills
Deb Paquette has built quite the fan base over the past thirty years. When she and her husband, Ernie, closed Zola in 2010, Nashville grieved the loss of an extraordinary restaurant. Imagine the excitement throughout the city when Deb emerged back on the food scene in 2012 with Etch.
Happy 50th birthday Southern Living!
I can remember being a little girl and seeing Southern Living sitting on the coffee table or in the kitchen at both my mom and grandma's house. It truly is a guide on living in the south. Whether it's a new coffee cake recipe or learning how to stretch your green thumb into the fall months, this publication has it all.
Del Mercado Menu at Bajo Sexto Taco Lounge in Nashville West
When Bajo Sexto and Chef Kaelin Ulrich Trilling announced the Del Mercado menu, I was anxiously awaiting my visit. Del Mercado (meaning “from the market”) is an ingredient-driven series of special menus and dishes available during the late summer produce.
Music City Food and Wine Festival
I had the opportunity to attend the kick-off for one of the best food and wine festivals that South has to offer, the Music City Food and Wine Festival. The fourth annual event will be held September 17 and 18 at Bicentennial Park.
Nashville to Asheville
Located just a few a hours outside of Nashville, Asheville, North Carolina needs to be added to everyone's weekend getaway list. This is easily becoming one of the top foodie destinations in the U.S. and I can easily see why. With an abundance craft breweries and ridiculous restaurants, you will not run out of things to do. I have listed a few of my favorites. Bon Appetit!
The Hidden Gem of Florence
Tucked away on a side street in Florence, Brac is one of those can’t miss places. I’ll admit, I was a little skeptical when it came to vegetarian food. I am SUCH a steak and cab kinda girl, but I was BLOWN AWAY. Brac is certainly one of those venues that could be considered the “third space.” Brac is a restaurant, library, art gallery and coffee house all rolled into one small quaint space.
Ready to Roister!
When the Alinea Group announced in 2015 that they were introducing a casual dining concept, people were waiting with bated breath to see what would develop, myself included. Well known for its innovative and provocative spin on food, the group boasts quite the list of high-caliber restaurants and bars within the Chicago area. Roister was no exception.
After a long day spent wandering the Parisian streets, there’s something especially satisfying about unwinding with a glass of fine wine or a meticulously crafted cocktail.
