Is The Kroma Wellness Reset Worth $500.00?

Featured | Deluxe Five Day Reset

Am I the epitome of health and wellness? Absolutely not. I do my best to stay hydrated, eat my fair share of fruits and veggies, and exercise when I can. But sometimes, a bottle of wine or chips and queso call my name, and I come running. It’s about balance, right? Since Thanksgiving, I’ve said screw it. Pizza for breakfast? Why not. Cocktailing with my friends five nights a week? Best decision ever. Skillet cookies for dessert? Duh.

Basically, my body went from a temple to a frat house in just a matter of weeks.

With the new year quickly approaching, I knew it was the perfect time to re-establish healthy eating habits and get my life back in order. At the end of the year, I saw Nashville blogger Landyn Hutchinson share her experience with a lifestyle reset called Kroma, and I was intrigued. She shared her daily progress on Instagram and gave us a sneak peek inside her five-day lifestyle reset.

I’ll be the first to tell you I am not a fan of cleanses. The juice cleanses I’ve done previously left me hangry, and I didn’t feel any different when I finished. To say I was a bit skeptical is an understatement. Could five days of nutrient-dense meals be the perfect anecdote to my food enthusiast lifestyle and alcohol-lubricated social life? I decided to spend $500.00 and find out.

Let’s talk about Kroma Wellness

Kroma believes in the power of food as medicine. Focusing on SuperFoods and Adaptogens, Kroma has proven that nutrient-rich foods and super herbs are the most powerful preventative ‘medicine’ known to improve overall health and well-being. If I learned anything on this journey, it’s that eating healthy can be enjoyable and delicious. Clients who commit to the Kroma reset will experience the following: overall slimming and debloating, better sleep and clearer mind, weight loss, more energy, balanced adrenals, increased metabolic function, and improved digestion (to name a few). Kroma has five core values, and one, in particular, spoke to me: Live Super-Empowered. Kroma believes that your body is sacred, and anything that you put in your body should be working for, not against you. I could go on sharing the company philosophy, but if you are interested in learning more about Kroma, click HERE.

Let’s get into it, shall we? Below you will find my daily thoughts and musings while I was on the Kroma Wellness reset.

My Morning Beauty Matcha Latte

Day 1: Will I survive on broth alone, she thought?

Even though I did my fair share of research on this wellness reset, it didn’t register how many packets would be available on a daily. Each day there are nine packets:

  • Morning: Beauty Matcha, Breakfast ( Super Porridge) Hydration (Cranberry Hydration Elixir), and Boost ( Rotating Plant-Based Smoothie)

  • Afternoon: Lunch ( Bone or Veggie Broth) Supergreens Elixir, Snack (Rotating Super Latte), and Energy ( OMG Cookie Butter)

  • Evening: Dinner (Bone or Veggie Broth) and Calming and Repair Magnesium

Based on my goals, I opted for the Lean protocol. With this particular protocol, you will use fewer add-ins and may not finish all packets. I skipped my morning smoothie and immediately noticed a difference on the bike. I took a 30-minute ride, which is nothing out of the normal, and could barely keep up. Needless to say, it was not my finest performance.

Around 3:00 pm, a dull headache started and continued the remainder of the evening. To lengthen my fasting window, I finished all of my packets around 6:45 pm.

My two takeaways from the day are:

  • OMG COOKIE BUTTER IS A GAME-CHANGER.

  • I’m already contemplating what elements I will incorporate from this reset into my daily routine.

OMG Cookie Butter Saves The Day!

DAY 2: I follow way too many food accounts on Instagram and TikTok

( what I would give for a Crunchwrap from Redheaded Stranger right about now?)

Given the number of calories that I’ve consumed over the last six weeks, I’m not surprised that I woke up in the middle of the night a tiny bit hungry, but I will say that it did pass. On the other hand, my headache did not. On a scale of 1-10, I’d rank it as a 3.5. Nothing traumatic, but annoying enough to let me know it was there. Distracted with a deep clean after the holidays, I got behind on my packets, but I made it a priority not to skip my smoothie this time ( recommended if you follow the Lean protocol). While I was in the middle of my workout, I could feel that I had more energy, even if I didn’t feel as strong as I normally do when I lift. The Spicy Passion Latte was on the afternoon rotation and is one item that I will incorporate into my daily routine and undoubtedly, the hero of the wellness reset is the OMG Cookie Butter. Saved me yet again when I wanted a sweet treat. I finished all of my packets around 7:00 pm, and honestly, I am ready to call it. Tomorrow is my first day back in the office in over two weeks, so send prayers that I make it through the workday.

Day 3: You got this!

Another day, another headache. Rather than trying to “work” through it as I have done the past few days, I decided to hit the medicine cabinet for a couple of ibuprofen. The last thing I needed on my first day back at work was a headache while I answered over two weeks of emails. Who knew detoxing from caffeine, sugar, and basically everything else that I consume on a daily would be so painful, both physically and mentally? Despite the headache, I woke up energized and with more mental clarity. The brain fog lifted just in time for me to get back to the daily grind. I decided to swap up my workout on the Peloton, and only focus on strength training and I’ll be the first to tell you that you simply cannot perform in the same manner as you are accustomed to. Even though I am adhering to the LEAN protocol, I reached out to the Kroma experts on Instagram and asked if clients typically work out while on this reset. I received a canned answer that people tailor the reset to their needs, goals, and activity level. The reply referenced the other two protocols, Lifestyle and Active, but not the Lean, which explains why I feel why I am going to die after ten minutes on the Peloton. I finished all of my packets by 6:15 pm, allowing for a longer fast tomorrow morning.

Breakfast Was Super Porridge Made With Almond Milk And Topped With A Few Fresh Berries

Day 4: Don’t Stop Believin’

For Lunch, I’d Prepare A Different Broth Adding Fresh Greens ( Spinach or Kale) Along With Shredded Chicken

Who would have known that omitting sugar, caffeine, and alcohol from your diet for just four days could make a girl feel so good! Although I stayed up later than normal binging a new Netflix series, I woke up feeling energetic and ready to start the day. No headache, no fatigue, nothing! My mental clarity and focus at work were better today than they had been in months. MONTHS! <Maybe my boss will read this and decide Kroma needs to be incorporated into our employee wellness program> Typically, the afternoons are very hard for me as I find it hard to power through without some sort of caffeinated beverage. Since I have been on Kroma, afternoons have been very manageable, and it’s all because of the Supergreens Elixir. I am a believer! This magical potion fuels me for the afternoon and gives me the energy to get shit done, and I no longer want to collapse on the couch as soon as the workday is over. It’s a win!

Day 5: Last Day, Best Day!

Undoubtedly, I am a morning person, but pre-Kroma Courtney required coffee and a slow re-entry into the world. I found myself waking up before my alarm went off, and while I was preparing my water for my Perfect Fast tea, I popped on my work laptop and immediately started firing off emails and working on slides. For a brief second, I thought to myself, “ who is this person? No coffee and ready to hit the ground running? I’ll take it!” These increased energy levels have definitely led to increased hunger. I ended up breaking my fast about 30 minutes earlier than on other days. Even though my day was stacked with meetings, I decided to squeeze in a quick barre workout. I noticed today that I didn’t feel as depleted as I had on previous days when I worked out and omitted my smoothie. After finishing work, I enjoyed my last packet of broth ( with chopped kale, spinach, and chicken) and savored every minute of my cookie butter before starting my final fast.

Lessons Learned:

I set out on this journey to re-establish healthy eating habits that would form the foundation of a new lifestyle, and if I lost a few lbs along the way, that was simply a bonus. Overall, my stomach is flatter, my joints are less achy, I have more mental clarity, and I feel rejuvenated. In total, I lost 5.7 lbs. The most important lesson I learned over the last few days is to view food as a source of nourishment, not an emotional coping mechanism. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve eaten out of boredom or because I am stressed and anxious. It’s a distraction, right? Kroma has demonstrated that food has a tremendous power to heal and change us mentally and physically. Before my reset ended, I found myself on the Kroma website ordering a few things to incorporate into my daily routine. I can’t wait to continue this journey and see where it takes me. Don’t get me wrong; I’ll continue to dine out. There will always be the occasional dinner at Rolf and Daughters and pizza from Smith and Lentz, but with moderation.

To answer the looming question, “ is the Kroma Wellness reset worth $500.00?” INDEED and worth every penny.
