Isn’t it wild that summer 2021 is coming to a close? I feel like I’ve literally turned around a few times, and we are already at the end of August, and it’s been a HOT one in Nashville. I step outside even for the smallest amount of time, and I feel like I am melting. To say that I’ve been drinking an inordinate amount of white wine this summer is an understatement. Even though I typically gravitate towards rosés during the hotter months, white wine has been a vibe for me this summer. I’ve had a chance to revisit a few of my favorites and taste a few new bottles that have caught my eye. This week, I sampled Arroyo Del Imperio, which is a Chardonnay produced in Chilé. It’s produced with grapes harvested in the Central Valley at the foothills of the Andes Mountains. Most of the wine that I feature tends to come from Italy, France, or California, so I was thrilled to sample a bottle from South America for a change.

Let’s face it, it’s hot outside, so let’s jump straight to the tasting details, shall we?

TASTING NOTES:

  • Classic Cork

  • Pale Straw Color

  • Crisp and refreshing; very easy to drink

  • Notes of citrus- think lemon, lime, and a hint of grapefruit

  • Balanced acidity

  • Light-medium body

Verdict:

Y’all, this was another great bottle of Chardonnay. Not sure how I’ve been so lucky the past few tastings, but I have been. I’ve found Chardonnays to be too oaky or buttery, and this bottle was so light and bright, I almost thought I was drinking a Pinot Grigio. This is a must-try in my opinion. Grab a bottle, and let me know what you think!

Until Next Time!
